Nissan Egypt Begins Sales of Locally Assembled Magnite, Targeting a New Generation of Compact SUV Buyers

Cairo, Egypt – Nissan Egypt has officially commenced nationwide sales of the locally assembled Nissan Magnite, marking a significant milestone for the automaker’s manufacturing operations in the country. The launch comes just one month after production of the compact SUV began at Nissan Egypt’s facility in 6th of October City.

Featuring more than 55% local content, the Nissan Magnite combines bold styling, advanced technology, strong safety credentials, and fuel efficiency in an effort to redefine the compact SUV segment and attract a new generation of Egyptian customers.

4 1Y9A9556The decision to locally assemble the Magnite follows a US$45 million investment by Nissan Motor Company, supporting Egypt’s Automotive Industrial Development Program and Vision 2030, which aim to position the country as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing and exports.

Blending Japanese engineering with practical innovation, the Magnite has been developed to meet the evolving needs of modern drivers. Nissan positions the model as a technology-rich, value-oriented SUV designed to deliver a compelling combination of everyday practicality, comfort, and low running costs.

Bold Design Meets Everyday Practicality

The Nissan Magnite features a distinctive exterior characterized by a prominent honeycomb grille, sleek LED Bi-Projector headlamps, and signature L-shaped daytime running lights. Its 205mm ground clearance, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and functional roof rails—capable of carrying up to 50kg—add both visual appeal and practicality.

Inside, the cabin combines a two-tone leatherette interior with multi-color ambient lighting and generous legroom, creating an upscale environment for occupants. The SUV also offers more than 19 liters of intelligently designed storage space, including a cooled glovebox and center and rear armrests with integrated storage.

Practicality is further enhanced by standard 60:40 split-folding rear seats, allowing the 336-liter luggage compartment to expand to as much as 690 liters when additional cargo space is required.

Technology and Comfort Take Center Stage

1 1Y9A9299Technology plays a central role in the Magnite’s cabin, with an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, alongside a 7-inch darkened digital instrument cluster.

The SUV also features an intelligent key with push-button start, complemented by walk-away locking, approach unlocking, and remote engine start with an operating range of up to 60 meters.

Passenger comfort is enhanced by rear air-conditioning vents and what Nissan describes as the largest bezel-less auto-dimming rearview mirror in the segment. The Magnite also incorporates a built-in Plasma Cluster Ionizer designed to improve cabin air quality by removing pollutants and germs, with Nissan claiming it can reduce the air quality index from 400 to 30 within 20 minutes.

Five-Star Safety and Efficient Performance

Safety remains a key focus of the locally assembled Magnite. The model has achieved a 5-star adult occupant protection rating from Global NCAP and comes equipped with six standard airbags covering the front, side, and curtain zones.

Additional safety and driver-assistance features include a segment-exclusive 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor, LED automatic headlights, and seatbelt reminders for all seating positions.

The Magnite is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of active safety and stability systems, including Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Power comes from a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with an X-TRONIC CVT transmission. The powertrain produces 100 hp and 152 Nm of torque, delivering responsive performance and smooth acceleration suited to both urban driving and longer journeys.

Fuel efficiency stands at 17.3 km/l, while the 36-liter fuel tank provides a practical driving range, further supporting the Magnite’s positioning as an economical choice for everyday mobility.

Designed for Egyptian Roads

3 1Y9A9524Nissan says the Magnite has been tailored to meet the demands of Egyptian drivers seeking a combination of distinctive styling, agile handling, comfort, and low ownership costs.

With seating for five adults, the compact SUV combines a high driving position and commanding road presence with the maneuverability required for crowded urban environments. The model is aimed at both families and urban professionals and is available in four variants, with prices starting at EGP 788,000.

Commenting on the launch, Mohamed AbdElSamad, Managing Director of Nissan Africa, described the locally assembled Magnite as a major milestone in Nissan Egypt’s growth strategy and a reflection of the company’s continued investment in the Egyptian market.

He noted that the introduction of a new production line has increased Nissan Egypt’s annual production capacity by more than 10,000 vehicles, enabling the company to respond to rising demand while offering customers a model that combines global standards with strong value.

AbdElSamad also emphasized Nissan’s confidence in Egypt’s industrial and manufacturing capabilities, highlighting the country’s growing role as a strategic base for production, exports, and regional expansion.

Meanwhile, Ramy Mohareb, Head of Brand & Communications at Nissan Africa, said the strong anticipation surrounding the Magnite demonstrates the model’s appeal to modern Egyptian customers.

According to Mohareb, the Magnite brings together Japanese engineering, smart technology, and distinctive design to redefine expectations in the compact SUV segment. Its arrival also expands Nissan’s locally assembled lineup, offering customers greater choice while supporting the brand’s focus on innovation and driving excitement.

Strengthening Egypt’s Role as a Regional Manufacturing Hub

The launch of the locally assembled Nissan Magnite reinforces Nissan’s long-term commitment to Egypt as a strategic manufacturing and growth hub serving markets across Africa.

The company says its local operations are also supporting increased domestic parts sourcing and job creation, while advancing more sustainable manufacturing practices through the use of solar energy and water recycling.

By combining product innovation with industrial investment and cooperation with government stakeholders, Nissan Egypt aims to expand consumer choice, strengthen local manufacturing capabilities, and further establish Egypt as a competitive automotive manufacturing and export center for the region.
