On February 28, 2024, Global Auto Group, the official dealer of MINI cars in Egypt, announced the launch of the latest third generation of its MINI Countryman model in the Egyptian market. This model comes as the newest addition to the MINI family, appearing in its new form as the largest car from the British brand in terms of size, characterized by spaciousness, making it an efficient family car without compromising the allure of MINI and its enjoyable spirit.
A splendid launch event, befitting the significance of this occasion, was organized on February 27 on the shores of Lake Qarun in the Faiyum Oasis, the world’s largest heart-shaped natural oasis. This event provided an opportunity to showcase MINI’s optimistic vision and playful spirit, centered around the concept of “Big Love,” marking a new beginning for the MINI family in Egypt.
The first MINI car manufactured in Germany boasts a captivating new design inspired by the classic design of previous MINI generations. Each category of the Countryman features a unique design both inside and out, with captivating aesthetic updates. Striking features include the large front grille, LED headlights, and bold design elements such as the short front cover and flush-fit door handles. The “John Cooper Works” models cater to enthusiasts of sporty performance, offering contrasting roof colors, bold sport stripes on the engine hood, and large 19 or 20-inch wheels for added dynamism and excitement.
The new MINI Countryman stands out with larger dimensions, making it the largest model in MINI’s history. With a total length of 4433 mm, width of 1843 mm, and height of 1656 mm, coupled with a long wheelbase of 2692 mm, these dimensions translate into improved performance and the classic “Go-Kart” feel when driving.
The interior cabin has undergone significant development, combining luxury comfort with aesthetic appeal while maintaining the classic MINI character. The design features simplicity and soft textile surfaces, incorporating modern technology such as the 9.4-inch OLED central screen and Head-Up Display system. Ample interior space is available for the five passengers, with the ability to move the rear seats forward and backward for additional space.
The new MINI Countryman offers advanced interior features, including automatic air conditioning, wireless mobile charger, Vescin leather-covered sports seats, heated steering wheel, and a powerful 365-watt Harman Kardon sound system.
In terms of safety and security features, the new MINI Countryman comes equipped with a range of advanced electronic systems. This includes the introduction of the Driving Assistant system in Egypt for the first time, assisting the driver during travel and providing alerts for blind spots, along with taking precautionary measures in hazardous situations. Modern electronic systems such as Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) contribute to the safety and stability of the vehicle.
The third generation of MINI Countryman is available in Egypt in three petrol-powered models: Countryman C, Countryman S ALL4, and the high-performance JCW ALL4 Countryman, along with a fully electric version available through the Countryman E model. The standard Countryman C model features a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 156 horsepower and 230 Newton-meters of torque. The Countryman S ALL4 and JCW ALL4 Countryman models are powered by a more potent 2-liter engine with a rebellious turbocharger and an all-wheel-drive system, generating 204 horsepower (300 Newton-meters) and 300 horsepower (400 Newton-meters), respectively. The “John Cooper Works” model offers exceptional performance inspired by MINI’s racing expertise. The fully electric Countryman E comes with a single electric motor producing 204 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque, utilizing a 5.66 kWh battery with an electric range of up to 264 km.
