Saudi Arabia – Soukalsayarat magazine had the opportunity to test and make a coverage the OMODA C5 car in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically in Riyadh.

Among these factors are the brand’s representation, the car’s price compared to its features, the design and size of the car both inside and outside, the car’s reliability and warranty, and finally, the cost of after-sales service and spare parts. All these factors quickly and strongly influence the popularity of any car in the kingdom or other countries
In this test drive, we will address all these factors and the enjoyable experience of the OMODA C5, which is a small SUV, significantly youthful, and offers a driving pleasure with various systems and a lot of luxury in that experience.
Firstly, about the OMODA brand agency, it is one of the Chinese Chery companies, and it did not have an agent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but the company decided to open a regional office in the country.
Engine:
The car comes with two engines. The first is a 1500 CC turbo with 154 horsepower and a CVT transmission.
The second is a 1600 CC turbo, providing 194 horsepower and connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch (DCT) transmission. We tested this engine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the Middle East regional office.
The car’s engine is very sporty, offering three driving modes (Eco – Normal – Sport). In the economical mode, the fuel consumption rate is approximately 5.0 liters per 100 kilometers, in the normal mode, it is around 6.1 liters per 100 kilometers, and in the sport mode, the consumption increases to approximately 9 liters per 100 kilometers.
It’s worth noting that the car is excellent in fuel efficiency, and despite that, driving in sport mode is very enjoyable. The engine’s response power, coupled with the rapid transmission, makes the driving experience exciting, and the steering wheel has a reassuring weight, highlighting the car’s engaging driving dynamics.
Exterior Design :
Overall, the car gives the impression of a sporty and aggressive performance. The front of the car stands out with a full ventilation grille adorned in silver in the middle, featuring the word OMODA in the center of the hood, LED front lights, and daytime running lights. The prominent aerodynamic lines are noticeable from the front and along the sides of the car up to the rear.
The rear design features elegant taillights accompanied by a side element. The lights welcome you when the car is opened, and the OMODA emblem is projected on the ground near the front side doors. Finally, what is particularly eye-catching is the red lines that signify the sporty look on the wheels and the rear spoiler of the car.
Interior Design and Spaces:
The interior spaces are very suitable for a young individual or a small family. The front passenger space is very comfortable, with electric controls for both front seats. The rear space features a small transmission tunnel that does not interfere, providing comfort for rear passengers.
The trunk space is good, approximately 550 liters, with electric opening and closing of the trunk. Additionally, you can adjust the trunk opening percentage through the entertainment screen.
Stability and Safety:
An important point is that the car excels in various safety and road stability factors, including 18-inch wheels that enhance the car’s stability. It also has stability factors in the brakes, such as ESP, ABS, EBD systems. Additionally, it features a lane departure warning system, collision warning with the front car, displaying surrounding cars through the front dashboard screen, side warning from blind spots, and cruise control. All of this can be controlled through the steering wheel or the entertainment screen, and the car is equipped with 8 airbags.
Entertainment Features:
The car comes with a 12.3-inch entertainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes air conditioning control, which is dual-zone and can be controlled from the bottom of the screen through touch. The fully digital dashboard panel offers various display modes and much more.
The car comes with ambient nighttime lighting that changes color according to the driving mode. In eco mode, it turns green, indicating a clean environment; in normal mode, it lights up with various changing colors, and in sport mode, it glows red, indicating fuel combustion power and strength.
The car also features a panoramic sunroof and 360-degree cameras. The car’s upholstery is full leather with a sporty design, and the front seats are heated.
Regarding the car’s warranty, it comes with an 8-year warranty and a 10-year warranty for the engine. The price of the OMODA C5 ranges between 80,000 to 92,000 Saudi Riyals, inclusive of taxes.
