Akrapovič Introduces Latest Edition of Exhaust for BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M

Ivančna Gorica, Slovenia – Akrapovič’s latest aftermarket product for the German car marque BMW is a brand-new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system for the BMW X5 M / X5 M Competition (F95) and BMW X6 M / X6 M Competition (F96).

3 Slip-On_Line (3) This full titanium system is the latest in a line of aftermarket exhaust systems that Akrapovič has developed and produced for previous generations of the BMW X5 M and X6 M, with the newest version featuring complex parts cast in Akrapovič’s in-house titanium foundry. These are the housing of the exhaust valves and collectors on each side of the muffler, which have been designed with meticulous detail and then cast by the Akrapovič’s skilled foundrymen.

The new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system has two sets of twin carbon-fibre / titanium tailpipes exiting from either side of the rear of the car. The system features two valves – one on each side of the muffler – to tailor the gas flow and assist in producing a deep and sporty tone. The use of innovative, lightweight material – which has been insulated on exposed parts for perfect durability – has produced a system that is 8.4 kg lighter than the stock M Sport exhaust system, amounting to an incredible weight savings of 40.7%.

4 Slip-On_Line (4) Performance and sound are two assets of an Akrapovič exhaust, and the new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system for the BMW X5 M / X5 M Competition (F95) and BMW X6 M / X6 M Competition (F96) delivers on both counts. Power gains of 8.9 kW (12.1 hp) at 2,400 rpm and torque increases of 35.4 Nm at 2,400 rpm have been recorded with the Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust–equipped BMW X6 M Competition on the Akrapovič dyno against a BMW X6 M Competition with a stock M Sport exhaust. The sound emitted from the exhaust enhances the sportiness of the two cars, making it distinctly different from the stock system. The use of the exhaust valves creates an exhaust tone that is audibly different and is clearly heard by all as the car moves through the gears and accelerates.

5 Slip-On_Line (5) The Akrapovič Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system for the BMW X5 M / X5 M Competition (F95) and BMW X6 M / X6 M Competition (F96) is a simple plug-and-play installation, with no need for remapping. It meets all the current required EC/ECE type approval standards. To further enhance the way the Akrapovič exhaust complements the rear of the car, an optional handmade carbon-fibre diffuser in either gloss or matte can be added.
