Titles, Triumphs and Podiums for Ferrari in GT Championships

Maranello, Italy – The drivers and teams racing Ferraris in the main GT championships enjoyed a very successful weekend. With the series nearing the end of the season, the first titles were awarded, also thanks to victories and podiums in the European Le Mans Series, the Le Mans Cup, the DTM and the Italian GT Championship.

 

3 ELMSThe 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the penultimate round of the European Le Mans Series, finished with a splendid Ferrari hat-trick. This extraordinary result mathematically seals the drivers’ and teams’ titles for Maranello, although it will be the Portimão round that will award it to the teams still in contention. Thanks to a second win of the season for François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Alessio Rovera, the AF Corse crew moved to within 20 points of the championship leaders, today’s runners-up Miguel Molina, Matteo Cressoni and Rino Mastronardi in the Iron Lynx 488 GTE. The “Iron Dames” Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey and Sarah Bovy drove their Ferrari to its first podium of the season, achieving a well-deserved third place in the last minutes of the race after starting from the last position.

Polemen Gabriele Lancieri and Paolo Ruberti won an unusual race in terms of the number of participants in the GT3 class. Third place went to the “Iron Dames” Manuela Gostner and Doriane Pin.

1 Campionato Italiano GTAfter a double win in the previous round at Spielberg, Liam Lawson mounted the podium twice at Assen with Red Bull AF Corse’s 488 GT3 Evo 2020. Despite his ballast, the New Zealander recorded two outstanding performances that almost yielded victory, particularly in the second race. After retiring on Saturday due to damage at the start, Alex Albon came fifth in Race-2. These results gave Lawson the championship lead on 175 points, ten more than Wittmann close on his heels. Red Bull AlphaTauri AF Corse tops the team standings on 279 points, 58 points ahead of ABT.

The two AF Corse and RS Racing 488 GT3 Evo 2020s took second and third overall at the end of the 3 Hours of Vallelunga, the third round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship. Despite racing in the Pro-Am class, the trio Schreiner-Roda-Fuoco and the duo Vezzoni-Di Amato, finished behind the Audi of Drudi-Ferrari-Agostini, the Pro winner ahead of the Scuderia Baldini 27 Ferrari crewed by Fisichella-Gai-Zampieri. The duos Mann-Vilander (AF Corse) and Earle-Schirò (Kessel Racing) made it four of a kind for Ferrari in the Pro-Am.
