Abou Ghaly Motors Group and Airbus Helicopters Join Forces to Develop Egypt’s Civil Helicopter Market

El Alamein, Egypt – Abou Ghaly Motors Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus Helicopters to jointly explore and develop Egypt’s civil helicopter market, in a move aimed at supporting the country’s Vision 2030 objectives and strengthening public and private aviation capabilities.

 

WhatsApp Image 2026-09-09 at 3.35.52 PM 3The agreement was signed as part of the 2026 El Alamein International Airshow agenda in El Alamein City, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The signing ceremony was attended by Philippe Tabarot, France’s Minister of Transport; Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Egypt; Captain Sameh El-Hefny, Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation; and Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company.

 

Under the MoU, Abou Ghaly Motors Group and Airbus Helicopters will collaborate on business opportunities aimed at expanding vertical mobility services in Egypt. The partnership will combine Airbus Helicopters’ advanced civil helicopter platforms with Abou Ghaly Motors Group’s local presence, market expertise, infrastructure and extensive business network.

The two companies intend to support the development of helicopter-based services across a range of sectors, including tourism, energy, medical services, VIP transportation and corporate aviation, while contributing to the broader development of Egypt’s civil aviation and advanced air mobility ecosystem.

Amr Seoudy, Vice President of Abou Ghaly Motors Group, described the agreement as a major milestone following extensive discussions between the two companies.

For his part, Mickael Bertrand, Head of Sales for North Africa at Airbus Helicopters, welcomed the partnership and highlighted its long-term potential.
