Cairo, Egypt – Ezz Elarab Sewedy Investments Group (ESI) has signed a strategic distribution agreement with China’s Chery Group, securing the exclusive rights to represent its fast-growing automotive brands, OMODA and JAECOO, in the Egyptian market. The partnership marks a significant milestone in ESI’s regional expansion strategy while reinforcing Egypt’s role as a leading hub for automotive trade, manufacturing, and smart mobility technologies.
The long-term agreement reflects Chery Group’s confidence in ESI’s commercial, marketing, and manufacturing capabilities and supports both companies’ shared vision of using Egypt as a gateway for expansion across regional markets. The move further strengthens ESI’s position as one of the region’s leading automotive groups, with a growing focus on new-energy and future mobility solutions.
Under the agreement, ESI will oversee the sales, marketing, and distribution of OMODA and JAECOO vehicles throughout Egypt. The Group will introduce the brands’ latest models to meet increasing demand for technologically advanced and new-energy vehicles, while ensuring comprehensive after-sales support, genuine spare parts availability, and a premium ownership experience from the outset.
ESI has also developed an integrated market expansion strategy aimed at strengthening the brands’ nationwide presence through an extensive sales and service network, supporting long-term customer satisfaction and sustainable growth.
Launched globally in 2023, OMODA and JAECOO have rapidly emerged as two of the automotive industry’s fastest-growing brands. Together, they have surpassed one million cumulative vehicle sales in record time, establishing a presence in nearly 70 markets across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Latin America.
The brands are part of Chery Group, one of China’s largest automotive manufacturers and a Fortune Global 500 company. JAECOO has achieved remarkable success in the United Kingdom, where the JAECOO 7 became the country’s best-selling vehicle, while the brand was also recognized as the UK’s fastest-growing mainstream automotive brand over the past decade.
Built around a complementary dual-brand strategy, OMODA targets the modern crossover segment with futuristic styling, advanced connectivity, and smart technologies tailored to younger customers. JAECOO, meanwhile, focuses on premium SUVs that combine refined luxury with rugged off-road capability and adventurous character.
Established in 1997 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, Chery Group has grown into one of China’s largest vehicle manufacturers and has remained the country’s leading passenger vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years. Ranked 233rd on the Fortune Global 500 in 2025, Chery now operates in more than 100 countries worldwide.
