Nissan Egypt unveiled today its latest innovative release. The Company announced the launch of its all-new Nissan X-Trail, an electrified vehicle designed for family electrified adventure, powered by the e-POWER technology introduced for the first time in the Egyptian market.
In response to the launch of the new car, Mohamed Abdel Samad, Country Director of Nissan Egypt, commented “We are delighted to announce the launch of the Nissan X-Trail, our latest addition to the Egyptian market, equipped with a suite of cutting-edge electric driving and mobility solutions, including the newly introduced e-POWER technology and e-4ORCE technology, both making their debut in Egypt. It is expected that this car will mark a qualitative shift in the local automotive sector, especially with Egypt and the region embracing environmentally friendly mobility solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions and providing sustainable alternatives for the transportation system. The X-Trail also serves as a significant entry point in advancing the global electric vehicle industry, as electric driving represents the future of mobility in the world of tomorrow.”
e-POWER represents a unique technology pioneered by Nissan, this technology combines the advantages of modern electric vehicles with an efficient gasoline engine, whose primary function is to recharge the lightweight lithium-ion battery equipped in the car when necessary. The electric motor directly delivers the stored energy from the battery to the car’s wheels, using the power stored in the battery. Simultaneously, the gasoline engine is used to recharge the battery or operate the electric motor. Therefore, e-POWER technology represents a practical and effective solution, blending the enjoyable driving experience of electric vehicles without worry, supported by a traditional internal combustion engine that charges the car’s battery when needed.
Abdel Samad added “e-POWER technology is entirely different from the technology used in hybrid cars, as the wheels are propelled by a 100% electric motor, and the gasoline engine works to recharge the battery that generates power to move the wheels. At the same time, e-POWER technology reduces carbon emissions resulting from gasoline usage compared to mild or traditional hybrid systems. It is similar to the range extender in electric cars but with a larger generator and a smaller battery, without the need for an electrical socket”.
The new X-Trail’s e-POWER system is comprised of a high-output battery and powertrain integrated with a 1.5L variable compression ratio petrol engine, power generator, inverter and a front electric motor. The unique element of e-POWER is that the petrol engine is used solely to generate electricity, whilst the wheels are completely driven by the electric motor. This means the engine can always run within its optimal range, leading to superior fuel efficiency in urban settings. Thanks to the pure electric motor drive, there’s no delay as with an internal combustion engine or traditional hybrid. The instant response delivers exhilarating high torque feel and agile acceleration to make overtaking or merging onto a highway easier and more confidence-inspiring.
“The X-Trail presents a trio of compelling attributes, foremost among them being its serene and comfortable driving experience. This is attributable to the silent and seamless operation of the electric motor. Secondly, the model excels in driving agility, with its reliance on the electric motor for wheel propulsion ensuring instantaneous acceleration and seamlessly responsive performance,” said Tarek Mostafa, Marketing General Manager “The inclusion of the E-Pedal, an electronic pedal facilitating single-pedal driving, thereby minimizing the necessity for pedal-switching, especially in congested traffic scenarios. The third distinctive advantage lies in the vehicle’s sustainability. Leveraging the electric motor significantly reduces carbon emissions, positioning the X-Trail as an environmentally responsible choice compared to traditional internal combustion engines reliant solely on fuel,” Mostafa added.
The New X-Trail with e-POWER generates 201 horsepower, with a torque of 330Nm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, and an average fuel consumption of 5.8 and exhaust emission average of 133 g/km. In addition to these benefits, the e-POWER drive system guarantees a quiet drive, for example at 40 km/h the sound in the car reduces by 8db compared with competitors.
e-4ORCE: a new level of Power and Control
The new e-4ORCE technology equipped in the X-Trail embodies a new dimension in intelligent driving from Nissan. This technology integrates Nissan’s electric drive technology with four-wheel-drive control and vehicle structure control to achieve a qualitative leap in acceleration, turning, and braking. This technology enhances vehicle control when driving on various surfaces, providing exceptional control and instant responsiveness. The steering management adjusts the brake balance for a more comfortable driving experience.
The X-Trail, captivating driving and adventure enthusiasts, is equipped for the first time with an intelligent four-wheel-drive system featuring a direct coupling that interacts faster than ever before, facilitating smooth power transfer between axles for maximum stability. The control management offers a disk-shaped selector providing the choice of five driving modes: Off-Road, Snow, Auto, Eco, and Sports. Additionally, shift paddles on the steering wheel allow the driver to interrupt automatic control and take command.
The torque distribution with e-4ORCE technology is balanced between the front and rear of the car, helping to increase the traction of the wheels according to road surface conditions and the vehicle’s position. The braking process is controlled independently for each of the four wheels. The car maintains its trajectory whether the road is oily, wet, or slippery, thanks to the control system of the two motors and their ability to distribute torque. The key lies in maintaining the balance of the car in the balanced distribution of energy. The energy distribution system can be adjusted with the ‘e-4ORCE’ system within 1/10,000 of a second. This is faster than what is used in conventional mechanical four-wheel-drive systems.
The car generates 211 horsepower through a front and a rear electric motor, with a combined torque of 330+195 Nm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 180 km/h. On the other hand, the lithium-ion battery capacity is 1.8 kilowatt-hours.
Muscular Distinctive Exterior Design
The exterior design of the car aligns with Nissan’s new design trends, especially with the V-motion black radiator grille featuring the new Nissan logo. Additionally, it includes a silver front air diffuser, a separate LED lighting system, and fog lights located at the bottom of the front bumper above the air diffuser. The car is equipped with 18-19-inch sporty wheels with chrome accents on the sides. The rear design features LED taillights with the X-Trail logo in the middle of the trunk lid. The rear bumper appears in black, accompanied by a large silver air diffuser and reflective lights.

The new family car includes advanced navigation systems, connectivity and various special features. The car is offered in a version with three rows of seats, totaling 7 seats. The car features a driver’s cabin with distinctive leather upholstery, also appearing on the dashboard, with trim pieces designed to resemble natural wood.
Modern Interior Design with Advanced Technology
Internally, the car reflects Nissan’s latest technological solutions. The car features 3 digital panels with a total of 35.4-inch display on its Tekna grade, including 2 adjustable touch display screens with TFT technology measuring 12.3 inches each (instrument cluster screen) to display navigation, entertainment, or car-related information. The car also includes a front driver display meter screen measuring 10.8 inches, the largest in its category. These screens complement the audio system featuring 10 speakers. The car is equipped with advanced entertainment systems, such as wireless smartphone connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Active and passive safety
Additional security comes in the form of Nissan’s Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with predictive function. Thanks to advanced radar technology, sensors are able to read the road beyond the car in front to detect if a vehicle suddenly brakes. The system will apply the brakes to reduce the likelihood of a collision.
Safety at night is enhanced by the fitment of advanced headlamp technology that allows the light unit to be slim, which helps the X-Trail’s aerodynamic efficiency, but adjusts the shape of its beam according to approaching traffic. Using a series of matrix LED units that manage the direction of the beam, the individual matrix LED lights are deactivated as oncoming traffic is detected, effectively leaving the rest of the road well illuminated, but not blinding the driver of the approaching vehicle
The New X-Trail will be introduced with two variants; ACENTA Plus E-power 2WD 5seater and the top grade TEKNA E-4orce 7seater which comes with additional innovative features as the Head up display, Around view monitor, automatic tailgate, 12.3″ Touch screen with wireless apple CarPlay and android auto and 19 inch alloy wheels.
